“I think I’m in love with the idea of you, Azure. The idea of who I used to love.” Her fingers parted to create a stinging space between the two.

His hand caught hers, before he pulled her hand close, to press against his heart. “Is this not Azure?” The beat beneath her fingertips caused her to clench her teeth.

He was making her feel when she didn’t want to. He always did this.

He…Azure did.

“No. It’s not.” She ripped her hands from his hold and took a step back. She did not linger long enough to see the look on his face. Even then, she knew she had damaged him.
